History
Talking2Minds was established in 2008 by Bob Paxman former B Squadron 22 SAS. Having experienced the symptoms of PTSD personally and finding a lack of therapies that helped alleviate the symptoms, he started to research ways in which he could managed the condition, refusing to accept that they would be “there for life”.
Paradigm Therapy™ was the result of all his research.
To begin with, he and a few other similiarly minded people began to offer the Therapy to militiary sufferers of PTSD. As word spread of the solid and sustained results, sufferers from all sectors of society began knocking at the door. Recognising that independently verified results were vital, Rob asked a number of psychiatrists and UK universities to assess the Therapy and it’s effectiveness. The results of these studies are detailed here.
Our ethos has always been to create something unique where individuals feel accepted and supported throughout. People are never judged, no matter what their past or present situation and family members are welcomed. We also provide complete confidentiality which can be important for sufferers still serving in the armed forces or “blue light” services as they could be medically discharged if their condition came to light.
Present day
We now have a dedicated team of volunteers from all over the UK and operate from two centres: one in Liverpool and the other in Leigh, Lancashire. Plans are in the pipeline for other centres in Worcester, Scotland and the South East. There is no accomodation on site but clients will be given details of hotels and B&Bs in the local area on request.
All members of the team feel so passionately about the change they have experienced in themselves that they are committed to help those experiencing the debilitating symptoms of severe stress-related conditions and PTSD.
We have many ways people can get involved and have an active fundraising calendar. We also maintain a high media presence both in the traditional sectors of TV, radio and newspapers and the new social media of Facebook and Twitter.

The future
Recognition of our work is finally arriving. We are key stakeholders in the re-write of the NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) guidelines 2015 and Paradigm is accepted as a viable therapy by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the NHS.
Our aim is to have a network of centres across the UK and to train more practitioners so that sufferers can get help quickly at a location near to them.
Please note that not only do we offer all training free of charge but rely solely on fundraising and donations to function. Please click here to see ways you can help.
