The Talking2Minds Paradigm Change Programme™ is central to the way in which we assist people in changing their lives when they are affected by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or any other severe stress related condition. Paradigm Therapy™ is used as a way of allowing people to alter the way they think and behave and allows them to make the necessary changes to regain control of their lives and manage their futures more effectively.
Our Paradigm Change Programme™ uses a holistic approach and works with clients on an individual basis to get to the root cause of the problem without revisiting the trauma as some traditional therapies do.
Dennis Carlon, an independent psychologist, has said “I have researched every therapy going, and my conclusion is that Talking2Minds and the Paradigm Therapy™ they have designed really works, especially for the worst cases. Those who have been affected by the symptoms of PTSD for a long time can literally see a shift in how they think and feel once they have made the decision that they want to get well and everyone at the charity are so supportive ”
The Talking2Minds team work with each person as an individual and supports them to look at how memories, thought patterns, actions and feelings work together to produce each individual’s unique experience and model of the world. Once that person understands their own thoughts and feelings and examines how they affect both their behaviours and in some cases physical symptoms then the process of addressing their fundamental causes of PTSD can begin.
Paradigm Therapy™ is completely client centred and acknowledges the fact that everyone is unique and will experience events in life in their own way. Because of this the practitioners on the Paradigm Change Programme™ work with clients on a 1 to 1 basis to fully support each individual through their own paradigm shift.
Each Paradigm practitioner can relate to the clients who go through the change programme because they themselves have experienced PTSD OR a severe trauma related condition. Talking2Minds not only work with those who are experiencing PTSD themselves but also the family members too because the charity understands the effects of severe trauma related conditions can be far reaching.
All of Talking2Minds therapies and procedures follow the British Psychological Society (BPS) strict Codes of Ethics and the charity have externally validated statistics based around our processes that assist us to remain results focused to maintain the effectiveness of our approach.
All change programmes are offered FREE OF CHARGE and the charity at the moment survives on charitable donations so quite literally the more funds we receive the more people we can help.
Our therapeutic process
You are only four steps away from taking control of your life without the symptoms of PTSD:
Step one: Get in touch with Talking2Minds directly. You might be referred via bodies or organisations. We are experiencing a growing number of veterans who are finding their way to us having been refused treatments by other organisations. Medical referral is not essential and we assist those that are on prescribed medication or maybe self medicating using ‘recreational’ drugs or alcohol.
Step two: You will be assessed by a Talking2Minds practitioner on the telephone or on a home visit and a treatment plan is agreed between you and the practitioner. We work at your speed and once you decide to engage we can start to help you.
Step three: Your therapy commences. For highly traumatised clients or clients with low self esteem Talking2Minds will respond to your individual needs allowing you to be gently led into the Paradigm Change Programme™. Once you are ready to commit, a place on the 4 day Paradigm Change Programme™ will be given. It is essential that you are able to commit to the 4 days before the process begins.
Step four: Palliative support and advice is offered to you after the Paradigm Change Programme™ is completed and Talking2Minds can offer access to health and welfare liaison between you and your employer should you wish to return to work. Once you have been assessed you may be given the opportunity to take part in our personal development programme with the further possibility of training as a volunteer practitioner with the team if you meet the essential criteria.
Please get in touch if you want some more information about what we do. Once you make the decision that you want to deal with the symptoms of PTSD or another severe trauma related conditions we can help put you on the path to taking control of your life once again.
